Hi guys I’m Nate. My Mother still calls me Nathan, but I outgrew that long ago. I Prefer Nate, Nate Dogg, or “Hey stupid”. I’m always looking for the fun in Life and luckily CrossFit is FUN! I grew up in the Dallas area and was a soccer player most of my childhood up until college. It’s a huge piece of my athletic career because it gave me endurance and speed. In High School I played football and soccer but my senior year I had a bad accident and wasn’t sure I could continue to play either sport. Luckily I recovered and as I headed into college I had to choose one sport, and it was football. I went to Trinity University in San Antonio where I played Tight End. I later Transferred to Baylor and tried to walk on but lingering effects from that high school injury were too much. In 2001 I had two discs replaced and a fusion between L4-L5. Needless to say after that I was less active in sports and in the gym. In 2014 I went through some life changes and finally gave CrossFit a try after looking in from the outside with skepticism. I cautiously went into it knowing the limits of my back. My first workout was “Baseline”. My time was 5:25 and I didn’t feel right for an hour! I knew right then that any “workout” that can have those types of effects in just five minutes is worth trying out. From that point forward I was in. It introduced me to my Wife, Jodi and our journey began. We both have a passion for teaching people what we know, and both became L1’s and coached together at the Box we were members at. When we met we didn’t say, “Lets open a gym!” yet here we are and couldn’t be happier about it. I coach with passion, enthusiasm and pride but also with caution, and I learned that from the experience I have had protecting my own back during my CrossFit journey. 2020 was a mess but it provided us the chance to create CrossFit Lindale and we are PUMPED! I strive to make this community unlike any other! See you at the Box! Maybe we will do Baseline….
